CWC - Carers Learning Programme

Learning new skills or enhancing your existing knowledge can make your life as a carer much easier.

You will soon be able to take part in an interactive carers learning programme that aims to help you:

  • understand how the care system works
  • understand how caring affects your life, and to balance your commitments more effectively
  • communicate more effectively with the person you care for, and health and social care professionals
  • take control of your time and finances
  • understand the emotions you may experience in caring and find practical ways to deal with these emotions

The programme is set up as a series of modules that you can work through at your own pace and in your own time. You can start the interactive programme by clicking on the bar below.

You do not need to have done any kind of self-study like this before in order to do the programme.

You should consider whether you are happy to work through the course on your own, especially if you have difficulty reading.

For information about other learning opportunities that could be available to carers, see our pages on finding courses, funding learning and learning support from Jobcentre Plus.

You might also want to watch the video below in which a carer talks about how she finds time for studying a distance learning course through the Open University.
