OCN Credit 4 Learning

As a member of the National Register of Self-Management, tutors that have been accredited to deliver the CDSMC or Staying Positive courses have the ability to apply for OCN Learning Credits and get their learning recognised as a professional qualification.

What are Learning Credits?

Learning Credits are a way of measuring and valuing your learning. They are nationally recognised and accepted as means of entry into employment and further learning with further and/or higher education.

Accredited tutors trained to deliver EPP courses in England can now be accredited with 15 credits which is the equivalent to A’ level or NVQ Level 3 achievement. For more information on The Open College Network go to www.ocnotc.com.

Am I eligible?

If you are trained and accredited as a Tutor for an Expert Patient Programme Course in England then you are eligible to apply for Learning Credits. Even if your accreditation has lapsed, you can still be awarded credits. However, we do stipulate that all applicants must be on The National Register of Self-Management (NRSM). If you would like further information or a registration form please contact admin@selfmanagement.co.uk or call 0333 344 1800

What Evidence will I need to provide?

We need to know who trained you and who accredited you, when and how long ago. We may ask you to provide physical evidence of your accreditation so that we can a) verify your information and b) prove to the OCN Credit 4 Learning during their auditing process that we are only giving credits to people that have been properly accredited.

How do I apply for credits?

If you are interested in applying for the learning credits, click on the buttopn above to download an application form that you can print out.  When you have completed the form please return it to Danni Brpwn at The National Register of Self-Management, Rutherford House, Warrington Road, Birchwood Park, Warrington, WA3 6ZH.

|Alternatively please fill in the online form below with your name (including title) and then the address, telephone number etc. We need all of the information so that we can match up those who have already registered on The National Register of Self-Management.

Qualification details

Please provide details of your actual accreditation. We require all of the information requested in order to process your application for learning credits.

Terminology

‘Date accredited’ – This is the date when you officially passed your training. For example, at tutor level this is when you pass your first two delivery assessments. You can find this date on your certificate.

‘Accredited by whom’ - Please include the name of the person and the organisation who trained/supervised you. ‘Name of course accredited to deliver’ – please specify the name of the course you are accredited to deliver. At present

we are only able to offer credits to those that have been accredited to deliver the CDSMC (generic) course.

‘’Dates of Assessments’ – In order to attain accreditation as a tutor for the CDSMC course you should have passed two assessments. Please provide the dates here. Please note, those that were accredited a number of years ago, this is NOT your most recent supervision or monitor visit. It is the dates of the initial assessments that you passed in order to attain your accreditation.

By submitting this form I confirm that the information I have given is complete and accurate and agree to EPP CIC verifying the information given. I understand that any deliberate omissions, falsification or misrepresentation on the application form will be grounds for rejecting this application or subsequent disqualification from the register once on board and removal of learning credits awarded.
